Another package came to my house today, OpenSolaris Starter Kit an Open Source UNIX Operating System Distribution by Sun Microsystems. It’s name Open-Solaris doesn’t make it looks like free software, does it?
The Package includes a nice DVD case containing 2 DVD:
- Learning Materials: Step-by-Step instruction, Features of OpenSolaris and Pointers to online resources - Softcopies =/
- Belenix and Schillix LiveCDs
- Nexenta LiveCD/Install - No idea whats these things
- OpenSolaris Source Code - This is fun.
- OpenSolaris Community Edition Binary - 2nd DVD
I haven’t really touched real UNIX systems before, so it will probably be my second UNIX after I tried freeBSD. You can order your copy of the starter kit @ www.opensolaris.org/kits/. But do note it will take like 1 month after your order before you’ll recieve them.
