I think this piece is one of the best composed and performed national anthem I have ever heard. When you listen to this piece, contrast what kind of Kazakhstan the anthem is portraying and your impression of this country. You may be more right than the anthem, but the patriotic spirit brought across by the music is undeniable.
The piece is the former anthem of the Kazakh SSR and then of the independent Kazakhstan Republic until 2006. Since then, the government adopted a new anthem.
